So far, so good

What with having to spend time in the basement a couple of times on Friday and Saturday due to the tornado sirens going off, yesterday turned out to be a "quiet" day - no sirens.

But the heavy rains returned late yesterday. And more is predicted for today.

Friday morning I noticed I needed to take my car to the car wash. With the winds and rains since then, there's no need to do that now.

I've been luckier than other, tho... only minor water seepage in the basement.

Our daughter...........

called yesterday from Mason City, Iowa. They have also had the same problems. They can't even use their tap water because the water treatment plant was shut down.

well, Gary..

I haven't yet mastered typing while my chair is rolling back and forth across the floor.....

trinajd --- my nephew was somewhere near Iowa City on Saturday for a track meet. He called from the return trip bus around 3PM and said he was glad he was finally out of Iowa because of the bad weather around there...

Yeah well.........

like I said, our daughter and her family live in Mason City, and I guess they really got it good. We live in Colorado Springs, CO and we have only seen a little rain. We're going to Cedar Rapids, Iowa the first week of August for our annual 1/4 Association reunion, weather should be good then, but hot.

SF, Jay

only in Wisconsin?

All this rain... and now Wisconsin has lost a popular lake...

Lake Delton near the Wisconsin Dells is empty after the rain-swollen lake cut its own channel around a dam and emptied into the Wisconsin River, taking four homes with it.
