Attention On Deck- Database update

As many of you know, our boot camp database is a work in progress. As new historical information comes to bare we modify the database to include that additional historical information.
From the original database of recruits and platoons, to the addition of the Drill Instructor’s section, and now the addition of our new Series Officers section; our goal is to capture everything historical about boot camp for your historical review.

The boot camp database is not only about those recruits who have EARNED the title of United State Marine, it’s also about those that have given their all in creating said Marines, hence the Series Officers section.

We begin this new section with 1st Lt Marc Stuckart, Jr. who was series officer of platoons 2004, 2006 that trained at San Diego in 1981. Although Lt. Stuckart was series officer for a number of other platoons, he was only able to submit two of his platoons for the database at this time. Our team has not only added Marc to his own series officer section, but to the platoon sections that were created for each of these platoon’s.

As with our other sections (platoon numbers, D.I. names) you will be about to search out series officers by using the search tool at the top of the page in the boot camp database main screen.

It’s an honor in having Marc aboard; we look forward to other series offices checking in.

Parris Island 1966

For you Parris Island Marines, you might want to check out the 6 (six) 1966 books entered into the boot camp database.

Who knows, maybe your's is one of the platoon's entered!

Gunny,

You have two options, one is to email the platoon pictures to me for posting, two you can upload them yourself. The platoon section is already in the database so all you have to do is go there, and use the upload selection at the top right of screen.

If you choose to send the pictures to me you can use this email address:

Email phone lines LIGHT up...

Last night we sent out thousands of emails asking for your help with the boot camp database (read above). By this afternoon the email phone lines went crazy with your support from the call to help your fellow Marines.

Our staff are working as fast as we can in responding to your many emails of comments and or additions to the database. Many of you are having us add new platoon pictures, and graduation book entries which takes time.

Becasue of the shear volume of emails requests we ask that you give us a little time (one week) to respond. EVERY email is important to us, so be patient, we will get to your emails.

Thanks for your understanding

Carry On Marines!!

I have photo of Platoon 189, 1st rct BT graduated 11/12/1958. I am looking for a graduation book as mine was lost in a flood back in the early 60's. Now that i am retired I would like to hook up with some of my platoon buddies. I am a CMDNT of a MCL Detachment in Ma. also in Fl and Me. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. This photo is available to anyone who needs it. T/sgt Gessner, Sgt. Bouldin and Sgt Bail were DI'S........CPL. Enos

On the main page of the web site near the top is a selection to enter the boot camp database. Select the location of boot camp, then year, then platoon number.

If you have further questions you can reach me directly at: gmiller@yellowfootprints.com
