Morning all !!!
It's 78F and clear skies overhead with light wind so far. Went to Fort Collins,Co. yesterday and too Tulia,Tex. day before for a Dealer-ship here in Ks. Drove a really nice F250 Diesel Truck that had a turbo and gee it was super like having a 429 with duel quads under the hood this truck could fly. Zero to 75 in 8 Seconds. Had no trouble passing cars and trucks going down the highway, and it got good mileage also
Later All and Semper Fi

Get ready,

I hear we have one hell of a rain storm coming down from Seatlle. And what the hell did we do to you people up there?????
I'd send it towards the East coast but I hear you people from NEVADA East got enough water of their own. ha ha

Well not so funny to those in the flood area's. Got a bunch of thought's and prayer's heading your way people.

Good Morning Cpl. Miller

HI!
i have a question for you. Why can't I put the cursur any place I want to when I want to correct a mistake. When I put an Obit in and I find a mistake i have to use the right or left arrow keys to get where the mistake is. This can take a bit of time if you have a long obit like I did today and the mistake is in the middle.

Thanks

Hey Fred

GREAT question, NO ANSWER...ha

I'm having the same problem as you, I've handed this over to one of the admins who is following up on this problem.

I don't think

it's tied to a user account because it's doing it as an admin as well.

I've reached out to Rick to see if he can figure this one out.

I just haven't seen the problem! Whether I edit one of my posts or go into a post by another member to correct a spelling error or typo, I have no problem placing the cursor directly to the place I want to make a correction. Perhaps it is an individual member configuration problem.

It may have something to do with the fact that Internet Explorer and/or Javascript is not up to date on a particular user's computer. The Quick Editor uses AJAX which is a MS ASP application.

I assume that's IE 9. I'm running IE 8 since IE 9 won't work on XP SP3. But, my IE 8 is up to date and so is Java on my machine. Maybe it has something to do with IE 9? As I said, I've had no problems with editing on the site.

What about Java? It could be a Javascript problem on your computer.

How-Do's everyone ...

Thanks for the hot joe ...

I have posted and attempted to edit my postings and have had no problems with the cursor placement & movement of same ...

It very well could be an individual thing ...

There are several things to consider:

1. What browser one uses
2. Java updates .. Are yours up to date?
3. And of course IE

A lot of the new updates to various browsers ... such as IE and Mozilla (thats what I use always) can also cause a glitch ...

As a general rule ... I "NEVER update my browsers ... at least not right away ... Just because they announce a new version does not necessarily mean you have to jump ...

I wait a while and let them get the bugs worked out ...

My IE (which I RARELY USE) is still on IE7 ... I don't even like 8 let alone 9 ....

I will run a maintenence chk in the admin panel but I would venture to say that this is an individual problem ...

Java update is a must as JITB put it .. I have run across a lot of folks that were far behind in that as well and never knew it or how it works ...

Java and players out there (ie Real Player, Adobe Flash, Windows Media etc) all require occasional & frequent updates and if you do not do them one will be left behind ...

With "ALL" that I have going on as far as web site building/maintaining and forum building/maintaining .... I rarely have any problems ....

I always do my updates and I only run THREE programs and they are all free versions

Avast AV
Malware Bytes
RegSeeker

Thats it ....

I am going to practice an edit here and there on another's posting but I would venture to say that mine will work fine ...

Exclamation

Gary ...

I logged into the admin panel here but I am not able to run any maintenance as I do not have the necessary permission ...

In YOUR admin panel mine stops at "Statistics & Logs" ........... the photo attached is a screen shot from "MY" admin panel so I could show you what I cannot get to in yours ...

So I cannot run a repair & optimization at this time

You'll have to give me permission ... I thought I had it all but I guess not ..

I'm not saying that this will fix the problem that some of you are experiencing but it won't hurt anything either ...
