MSgt John E. Antonitis USMCR (ret), 87, York, PA

John E. Antonitis, Jr., 87, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Misericordia Nursing Center. He was the husband of Laura L. (Kuklinski) Antonitis. They were married for 62 years. Mr. Antonitis was born on September 5, 1919, in Forest City. A son of the late John E. and Celia (Chania) Antonitis. He retired from the Philadelphia Gas Works as a customer service representative. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He also retired from the Marine Corps Reserves as a Master Sergeant in 1979. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, John is also survived by a son, John E. Antonitis, III, and his wife, Judy of Washington, D.C.; and a brother, Edward Antonitis of Mission Viejo, Calif. The viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2006, at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Robert McCreary, O.F.M. Cap. as the celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements by the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt.
