On-hand Graduation books.

This forum should be used to list those boot camp graduation books that you have in hand.
This forum has been created for your use in helping our Marine brother and sisters find those graduation books that have been lost over the years for one reason or another.

Over this last year Yellow Footprints has received a number of books that are stored in our archives.

For members like CMYR who purchased a large number of books, these books can and will be listed in this forum section for your review.
IF you find a book that a member has listed that is your platoon book, it will be up to you to make contact with that member via his/her email address in their profiles.

If you need assistence, the Yellowfootprints team will be happy to help. Due to the workload of the staff we do ask that you FIRST contact the listing member first.

As a side note: THIS forum is not a place for those selling books, it is an informational listing forum ONLY.

Carry On Marines!!

The Yellow Footprints team

Yo, coach! The search works fine if you have a 4-digit platoon number. If the platoon number is only 3-digits, you need to put a zero in front of it. Both in the thread and the search box.

54,

We've taken the liberty in creating your platoon section in the boot camp database. You are welcomed to post your contact information (email address) if you want. This way others from your platoon can reach out to you.

Thanks for the test Nancy,

and the heads up for searching platoon numbers.

Bottom line folks, this allows us to post more than one platoon number in a thread. This way, as we add platoon numbers we'll be able to add them to the same thread.

No need to create more than one thread for each platoon number.

For now...

hold off on posting books of boot camp book searches until we get this site up and running fully. We are still in the process of updating the site and do not want to loss and data you may enter.

Thank you for your understanding.

Still Searching

Platoon 2095, graduated from MCRD San Diego in December 1976.

I'm told by the Marine Corps Museum Archives that 1975 and 1976 books are not available... Does anyone know why or does anyone have a platoon photo from 2095?

I've sent a request....

to my contact at the Historical Society to see if they can supply an answer to your question of why they do not have books and or platoon pictures for the years you mentioned above.

Update,

Two more Marine are about to receive their long lost boot camp graduation books. These are books that were donated by you Marines, and non-Marines alike that are now heading home to Marines who have lost, or mis-placed their books over the years.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have donated these historical books. These books may not have much meaning to the average person, but to a Marine they are a testament to the achievement of a lifetime.
Becoming a Marine is not an easy task and in the end these books are all we have that says we made the cut, we became Marines, something NOT everyone can do, or say.
