What do you think about the new tax bill

Big thought of the day now that it is over. If the Newspapers were not so set to destroy President Trump they could have seen what was going on.

The newspapers were talking about how the new tax bill was going to hurt the little guy. But they never took the time to explain why.

The government talked about more jobs, higher income, and the corporations bringing their jobs back to the US. But the did not talk about the effect to the little people.

That simple word is INFLATION. Those on government income and retirements such as social security and military income (active and retired) will get COLA's. But you have to remember that these COLA's run 14 to 16 months behind inflation based on the prior 12 months. Not the 12 months some people think. The COLA's are set in September each year and approved by Congress each October.

That is great to some extent. But what about those poor that don't have a retirement or a COLA. Where do that get the increase in income to pay for the raise in inflation? And the working poor that make a income under $15.00 to $20.00 a hour who have families. Their buying power will shrink and put them deeper in the hole.

I think that if Trump wanted to get his tax plan passed he did it the right way. He built a smoke screen between him and the tax bill and let the press come after him.

Ya know Chuck this is a prime example why the people never seem to get the straight scoop for ANYTHING that goes on in Washington. Really appreciate your input and explanation.

I don't think it'll hurt the little guy at all. And I don't think the media people think so either, that's why they offered no explanation to their contrarian agenda. This president did more in a year than the last one in both his terms regarding the much needed tax reform.
