Cecil Bruce King, J.D., C.P.A., 81, Mobile, AL

Mr. Cecil Bruce King, J. D., C. P. A., - A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL was born July 16, 1927 to Charles H. and Alfreda Krudop King, and died May 30, 2008, after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles H. King, Jr.; and his sister, Alfreda Tiechmann. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lowery King; and their four children, Richard Lowery King (Lisa), Dr. John H. King (Judy), Dr. Bruce King (Dr. Nuria), and Mrs. Angela King McBroom (Andrew). He is also survived by one brother, Joseph E. King (Joan); twelve grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. King was educated in the Mobile County School System and graduated from Murphy High School in 1945. After service in the United States Marine Corps, he graduated from Tulane University and The University of Alabama School of Law. Memberships included Alabama and Mobile County Bar Associations; American, Alabama and Mobile County Societies of Certified Public Accountants; Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce; 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner; South Alabama Bridge Association; Crichton Optimist Club; and many other academic, athletic, social and civic associations. He was a 60 year member of the Episcopal Church. Graveside services officiated by Reverend Ray Buchanan will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 1:00 P. M. in Allentown Cemetery, 10933 Wulff Road, Semmes, Alabama. Visitation will follow at the Sonneborn home, 5808 Fairfax Road North, from 2:30 until 5:30 P. M. The family wishes to thank Dr. Timothy Iliff, M. D., and the hard working, devoted staff for the compassionate care given to all the veterans at William F. Green State Veterans Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to William F. Green State Veterans Home, 300 Faulkner Drive, Bay Minette, AL 36507; or to The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1100 Cody Road, Mobile, AL 36695. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
