LETTER: Local Marines invited to anniversary celebration in Wisconsin Rapids
All hands notice:
Plan of the day for Friday, Nov. 9
Nov. 10 being the 232nd anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps, in accordance with MC orders and tradition, a birthday banquet will be held at the VFW Post Home, 2711 Reddin Road, Wisconsin Rapids, on Friday, Nov. 9.
Cocktails will go at 18:00 (6 p.m. for civilians), birthday ceremony at 19:00, mess call immediately following. Uniform of the day winter service casual/informal, but blues/greens are welcome.
This invitation is extended to all who have worn the Eagle-Globe-and-Anchor: Past, present, former; reserve, active duty Marines and FMF Corpsmen and their families. Bring your memories, mementos and souvenirs; renew old friendships and make new ones as we share and celebrate our great heritage and brotherhood.
Cost for this evening of fellowship and remembrance is $16 per person, with a cash bar, for a catered dinner. Reservations are required and must be made Sunday, Nov. 4, by calling Todd Boudreau at 886-2989 or Jim Strasser at 423-8615.
The best turnout we have had in four years is 30 -- let's see if we can top that this year. Semper Fi. End of message.
