O'Boot wishing to bring Morning Coffee back is just a pure JOY to me.
I have made some very special and lasting friends through that first cup of coffee in the morning. All the "headaches" and "2 x 4's" upside the head it took for us to actually look at ourselves, and use that God given gift, "THE BRAIN", was the most fun and enlightening way to start anyone's day in this crazy world. Totally refreshing!!!

James, I loved your first "CUP". EXCELLENT!!! A lot of "Food for Thought" in those words. May your endeavors continue as you have much to share, a heart that sings, and a talent for doing so.

Seeing one of Bone's earlier MC's made me smile. The guy is a natural for making the old brain work and didn't mind smacking you upside the head & then telling you the aspirin was in the cabinet.

NOMAD would be honored, though humbled, that you continue to honor him four years later.

HUGS and GOD'S BLESSINGS!!

I just grabbed the last of the coffee from the office coffee mess.
I'm sitting here looking out my office windows. The sun is shining, the temps are "looking" fine. Some of the trees are starting to change color. And the winds of the fall season are beginning to blow. I will enjoy today's weather. :) Tomorrow they predict we will have lows in the 40s!!:(

I see by the news that the good guys have rounded up most of the bad guys who hurt that little girl. And they got the bad guys who murdered (by burning) the other girl. Way to go good guys!!

May y'all have a day filled with sunshine; and fair winds.
Time to get back to work --- and make some more coffee!:D

Good morning/good afternoon.-
I guess I must have had the last of the 0 dark Thirty coffee about fifteen minutes ago (12:45 or so) It doesn't taste bad but I had to add a whole lot of Irish whiskey and heavy cream to cut some of the swagger out of it. LOL. Darn, that coffee reminded me that I have to change the oil in my truck.
I've enjoyed this website so far. It's just like namvet67 said it was going to be. Have a good day everyone.

Wish us safe travel if you all will. Will be returning home Sunday.

GOOD MORNNIN FOLK'S
NOTHING NEW AROUND HEAR
I QUEST I'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR
SOMEDAY TO COME AROUND

ANYHOW THIS KIND OF STUFF HAS GOT TO STOP IN OUR COUNTRY!

We Must Stop This Immediately!

Have you noticed that Stairs are getting steeper. Groceries are heavier. And, everything is farther away. Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long our street had become!

And people are less considerate now, especially the young ones. They speak in whispers all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face! What do they think I am, a lip reader?

I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am. I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me.

I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own refection.........Well, REALLY NOW- even mirrors are not made the way they used to be!

Another thing, everyone drives so fast these days! You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the freeway in front of them. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror.

Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices that these things no longer fit around the waist, and hips?

The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank, but in reverse. Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling?

I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on -- but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in here!

All I can do is pass along this warning: We are under attack! Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities.

WELL ENJOY YA DAY FOLK'S
PULL UP A SEAT COFFEE AND TEA ARE READY
LOOK'S LIKE S.O.S. FOR ME TODAY
IT'S A NEW DAY
MAKE THE MOST OF IT..

GOOD MORNNIN FOLK'S
GOT THIS IN AN E-MAIL TODAY
JUST TO TURE NOT TO SHARE
I TELL YOU THIS OLD WORLD IS SCAREING THE HECK OUT OF THIS
O'COUNTRY BOY...

This one is done different from any of the others I have seen. It is neat.

NEW SCHOOL PRAY

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
SO COFFEE'S ON GRAB A SEAT PUT YOUR FEET UP AND ENJOY
MAYBE SOMEDAY WE'LL GET IT RIGHT YET..

Morning! Thanks for the french twist doughnut. It's just what I needed to start my day today.

I ran across a paragraph from a recent article that got me to thinking. It read:

"When you begin to see challenges in your life as temporary obstacles instead of insurmountable, final, or permanent blockages, you can then figure out how to move to the left or the right to get around them, tunnel under them, or climb over them."

It reminded me of how the Marines are trained to adapt; training our civilian counterparts usually don't receive. How our adaptability training affects our lives, and, in turn, can be used to help the lives of those around us, even after we've left active duty.

It would seem our work as Marines is never done.

Nancy

I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT
I THINK YOU COULD SAY THE SAME ABOUT BEING A MOM AND DAD..

cmyr
09-23-2006, 10:41 AM
Hmmm. A mom or a dad. True. I was never blessed with children during my marriage. And I only babysat my sibs when I was growing up.
I remember, tho, the time that there were 10+ eighteen and nineteen year old male Marines in my work section when I was section NCO. And most of them were just out of boot camp. That was a trip - riding herd on that crew!:)

cmyr
09-23-2006, 10:52 AM
Yeah, they were quite a crew! There was an honor grad whose dodo didn't smell sitting next to a young married PFC who was struggling to make ends meet, etc. It taught me a lot about the diversity in our country. Not to mention how to keep one step ahead of them and their antics! :)
Still, they were all good Marines and I was proud of every one of them!

Ok, I won't delay any longer.
Last year about this time, I put off taking a picture of the tree in our front yard. It was in the process of displaying its autumness and the colors were breathtakingly beautiful. Every morning when I left for work, I'd look at it and make a mental note to take a picture of it as soon as I got home. But then I'd get home late and tired most of the time. And then, wouldn't you know it, the day I finally got motivated enough to get the film and everything together and even got home early to take the picture, to my horror, a wind had come up during the day and took off almost every single one of the leaves. I was sad. I was angry. Finally, I thought to myself, serves me right.

But then.

Something struck me. When I looked at the tree, I noticed a nest and the late afternoon moon through the branches. The moon had never been so full of light. Was it really that beautiful? I hadn't noticed it before when all those leaves were on the tree.

So?

It's pretty lame I guess to say I've been meaning to call you. Fact is, though I've been thinking about it most every day, I haven't actually done it. And now you're shakin' my tree. God I love you guys!!!

:0)

We're good to the last drop!!!

GOOD MORNING,
YOU KNOW THE OTHER DAY I WAS THINKING ABOUT LIFE.WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPEN IF AT THE CROSS ROAD'S OF MY LIFE I HAD GONE TO THE RIGHT INSTEAD OF THE LEFT?
AND THINKING ABOUT THIS I REMEMBER AN OLD HOUSE JEST A SHORT DRIVE FROM HEAR.
NOW THIS HOUSE MUST BE OVER A HUNDRED YEAR'S OLD..
AS I WAS DRIVING PASS IT A FEW DAY'S AGO AS I HAVE SO MANY TIME'S IN THE PAST. I STOP ONCE MORE.
AS I WAS LOOKING AT IT I SWARE I COULD HEAR IT SAY "FRIEND HAVE A SEAT LET'S TALK"SO I DID.
YOU KNOW I SWARE THAT,THAT OLD HOUSE WAS TALKING TO ME
AS I SAT AND LISTEN I HEARD THE HISTORY OF IT.
HEAR IS IT'S STORY:
YOU SEE I'M OLD NOW MY PAINT AND WINDOW'S ARE GONE BUT I WAS NOT ALWAY LIKE THIS.
FOR ONCE I WAS YOUNG AND FULL OF LIFE AND IF YOU TAKE THE TIME AND LISTEN YOU CAN STILL HEAR IT.
AND I LISTEN, I LISTEN FOR HOUR'S, THEN I HEARD IT..
AT FIRST A WISPIER THEN IT GROW LOADER AND LOADER.
IT TOLD OF LAUGHTER,SORROW,PAIN,AND THEN IT TOLD OF "JOY"
I TELL YOU FOLK'S YOU COULD SEE THAT OLD RUN DOWN HOUSE COME TO LIFE RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYE'S.
I COULD SMELL THE SMOKE FROM THE WOOD FIRE,THE SMELL OF FOOD DRIFTING FROM THE KICTHEN.
I HEARD THE MEN TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER AND IF WE WOULD GET MORE RAIN FOR THE CROPS.
I HEARD THE WEMAN TALKING ABOUT THE BABY THAT WAS ON THE WAY AND IF YOU LISTEN REALLY HARD YOU COULD HEAR THE SOUND OF CHILDREN PLAYING,
"RED ROVER-- RED ROVER "LET JIMMY COME OVER.........
BEFORE I KNEW IT THE DAY HAD PASSED.
AND I FOUND OUT THAT I HAD LEARNED SOMETHING HEAR .
AND AS I GOT UP TO GO,, IT WAS AS IF THE OLD HOUSE WAS SAYING THANK YOU......THANK YOU FOR STOPPING AND TAKING THE TIME TO HEAR MY STORY.......
NOW I THINK I UNDERSTAND LIFE JUST A BIT BETTER.FOR YOU SEE IT'S LIKE THE OLD MAN WE PASS DAY AFTER DAY,THE VET IN THE OLD SOLDER'S HOME,THE ONE'S IN THE OLD FOLK'S HOME,
IT'S LIKE YOU AND ME, "WE ALL JEST NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO,SOMEONE TO LISTEN".......

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.

I read your Oct 5th letter and you're right, you need to work on your spelling, however, it is interesting for a reader to realize that you don't really need to know how to spell to know how to write.

I liked what you had to say about the house and how you used it to talk about how we need to stop and smell the roses and while we're doing that think about what we are looking as and what it's history has been.

You used an old house but it could have been a tree, a rock or an old rusted out car that was left in a field. They all have their stories and give us cause to use our imagination. It is what an artist does. He or she sees things that others don't because they use their imagination and actually see what it is that they are looking at. I used to teach my young trainee cops that looking isn't seeing and not seeing can get you killed.

We all want to be an artist of one kind or another, you with your camera, me with my brush, pallett, canvas and easel. What we are using is our insight, our imagination and our abilty to see what it is that we are looking at. That is what makes us feel like we have a purpose in this world and what it is that we want to be here for. Where we live, what we drive, what our toys are doesn't matter once we recognize that we have a purpose. Once we see that purpose we will see others and finally reach a level of fulfillment that most young people aren't thinking about.

Maybe it is age that brings it out in most people, but I think it is really thinking as an artist does and seeing what an artist sees does it.

The Morning Coffee idea is worth keeping alive as it obviously invokes thought, whether there is a response or not. It is worth the time and the effort if you choose it as your art or one of them.

Keep it up and keep it from the heart,

Your little brother, Rick

[POSTING FOR JIM SO THIS WELL HAVE TO DO]
ANYHOW IT'S SUNDAY AND NO ONE READ'S MORNING COFFEE ANY HOW
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
> This will give you the chills...GOOD chills.
>
>A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study.
>
>The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's
>voice.
>
>The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to
>people?"
>
>After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they
>discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had
>led them in different ways.
>
>It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home.
>Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God...If you still speak to
>people speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey."
>
>As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest
>thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk.
>
>He shook his head and said aloud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a
>reply and started on toward home.
>
>Again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk.
>
>The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice
>of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.
>
>"Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk." It didn't seem
>like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He
>stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started toward home.
>
>As he passed Seventh Stree t, he again felt the urge, "Turn Down that
>street."
>
>This is crazy he thought and drove on past the intersection.
>
>Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Stree t.
>
>At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.
>
>Half jokingly, he said aloud, "Okay, God, I will."
>
>He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He
>pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in semi commercial
>area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of
>neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses
>looked dark like the people were already in bed.
>
>Again, he sensed something, "Go, and give the milk to the people in the
>house across the street." The young man looked at the house. It was
>dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already
>asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.
>
>
>"Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up,
>they are going to be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he
>should go and give the milk.
>
>Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the
>door, and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a
>crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for
>something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here."
>
>He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise
>inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?" Then
>the door opened before the young man could get away.
>
>The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he
>
>just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't
>seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is
>it?"
>
>The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to
>you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway.
>
>Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the
>kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was
>crying. The man had tears streaming down his face.
>
>The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had
>some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any
>milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to
>get some milk."
>
>His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I ask him to send an Angel with
>some. Are you an Angel?"
>
>The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he
>had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward
>his car and the tears were streaming down his face.
>
>He knew that God still answers prayers.

Monday Oct.9,2006 Morning Coffee.....
good morning.
well it's monday and many of you are lucky enough to have your health and a job to go to today.
but i would like you to think about jest one member in your family who is unable to work because of health or old age.
think about the dreams he or she may have had.
did the reach them? did they?
if they where to ask you for a helping hand would you help them?
now be hounest with yourself would you?
or are we living in a world where it's enery man or women for them self's?
boy i hope not... i think we have had it easy for far to long now
we forgot family,friends's.....
we no longer know what our kid's are doing and sometime's i don't think we even care...this is so very sad for life is so short..
belive me it is...oh i know your young now you think you got the world by the back side..
one day you'll go to sleep at 20 and before you know it your to are old..then you'll say to yourself what the hell happen where did the time go. is this all there is to live..?
that well be your time to look around and wonder do you stell have family or friend's you can turn to?
now where am i going with all of this you may ask yourself?
remember in life you only get out what you put in to it..
we have become a land of uncaring ... start careing about your friends's and family for live is to short to loose even one..

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.

Each day spent not assisting SOMEONE, whether they be family, friend, or a complete stranger is as if you're "Dancing in the Dark".

THE POEM
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God! held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"

Now do you have the time
