Veteran Stabbed Multiple Times During Carjacking
WEST MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- A man was stabbed Thursday during a carjacking at the Clement J. Zablocki Veteran Affairs Medical Center at 50th Street and National Avenue in West Milwaukee.
The veteran, in his 60's, was leaving the center after an outpatient appointment when he was approached by a man and woman while walking to his car in the east parking lot.
The victim was stabbed multiple times and was rushed to Froedtert Hospital for trauma care.
A VA spokesperson called the incident isolated, but devastating.
"I thought that this wasn't happening. You read it, you see it on T.V., but when it hits you in your office, in your own facility, it certainly is a surprise, it's shocking, it's frustrating, it's scary, basically," VA Center spokesperson John Zewiske said.
Police are now looking for the carjackers, who drove off in the victim's car, a 1997 Geo Prism. It is maroon in color with four doors. It has Wisconsin license plates 772-EHK.
Anyone with information on the crime is encouraged to call the West Milwaukee Police Department at 414-645-2151.
