And how about the fellow without a shirt. Name/Shop? I didn't remember a front/back porch on my hooch! It could have been the top of a bunker.

We had bunkers or sandbags under the hooches until TET. Shortly after TET two hooches took direct hits. The seabees came in and dug big holes in the sand and we built bunkers next to the living area. The bunkers were about six feet deep with sand bag sides and revetment tops covered with about three or four layers of sandbags. I left in June of '68 before all the wierd stuff started to happen. Remember racking sand for inspections? I have a boat load of slides and need to get them either printed or scanned.
