Headquarters & Maintenance Squadron-24 was commissioned on 1 March 1942, at the MCAS, Ewa, Oahu, Hawaii as Headquarters Squadron-24 of Marine Aircraft Group-24. On 15 February 1954, the Squadron was redesignated as Headquarters & Maintenance Squadron-24.
