Platoon Photos

Anyone having posted a platoon photograph in the past year might want to look and see if it is still there. Since the site upgrade, mine is missing and it looks to me like several more are missing. It certainly seems like there were more platoon graduation photos there before than there are now.

For the record since our site upgrade very few platoon section have had problems. The members gallery did have a few pictures that did get erased with the move but not the boot camp database. We keep backups of the entire database off-line which we can access and re-enter when we get notified of a platoon section issue.

If you would list your platoon information as in; location of boot camp, month, year, and platoon number we can search our archives and re-enter your platoon information.

No web site move happens without issues, I believe we've been lucky that we have had a small number of problems since the move. If it hadn't been for the four admins working night and day I thing things may not have turn out so well.

Get us the information listed above and we'll get your platoon information back on-line for you.

Not sure why you can't find your platoon information because it is listed under PI, 1966, Jan, platoon 1020.

You have four pictures in your platoon section and one picture in your personal section where your email address is listed.

Hey Marines..... I'm attempting to get my hands on a photo of Plt 3056 which graduated San San Diego in Aug 1978. I saw a picture of a sister platoon (3053), but not the one I needed. Any pointers?

There's the Museum Historical Society in San Diego.

As the Museum Historical Society wouldn't have the individual platoon photo ("The Museum Historical Society's collection of platoon photos dates from 1937-1974; 1987-1996."), Ellen can be contacted.

"The only platoon rosters are in our collection of grad books. If they know the year of graduation and the collection is not large, I will check the books myself. If they know their platoon number and we have the book (in the Command Museum's Reference Collection), I can make a photocopy of the insert that is for their platoon. This will give them their head shot as well as a platoon roster and images of their platoon's boot camp experiences. For the years 1953-1985, we have a very limited number of platoon books." If Ellen cannot provide the individual photo and platoon roster, then we have to look for the recruit graduation book. I've added platoon 3056/1978 to my master listing of books to search for as it wasn't listed at any of the websites I use for finding books.

Dale, this is Kip Hammargren. We graduated boot camp in the same platoon. I happened to stumble across this web site when browsing for plt. members & I see you are looking for a plt. picture. I have my plt. graduation book, it's a little damaged from a flood but I don't even know if it had a whole plt. picture or just individual member pictures. hi cpl miller my name is james fulton i was a recruit in san diego in june /19/1975 i started with plt 3067 1 was dropped to either 2nd or first batallion and then i was dropped again in the last phase of bootcamp i think 1 graduated between august and sept of 1975 lost my platoon group photo would appreiate any help finding it thank you
